More Key Steps For Men To Live Longer

Men generally die younger as compared to women, that is a known fact and there have been countless studies that can support it. In addition, based from the men in the United States, the average life expectance of men are 77.8 years while women can live for another five years. That outcome is attributed to the fact that fatal conditions like heart diseases are more common among men.

Another reason why most women live longer than men is the fact that women have estrogens that protect them from heart diseases. In addition, women are generally more concerned about their health which means they are more likely to see a doctor for check-ups and screenings if they see or sense that there is something wrong with their health.

However, men should not lose hope of not living longer. This is because it is possible to beat the average life expectance of men. According to the study that was conducted last 2006 by the National Aging Institute of the Unites States, men that have healthy habits and with no risk factors have a 69 percent of living to the age of 85. So how can you do that? Here are the steps that you should take.

Step No. 1: Watch your diet. You must start eating foods that are healthy for your body. Avoid foods that are too much salty as well as those foods that are high in saturated fats. For that reason, it is advisable to avoid eating at fast food chains because their foods are prepared with too much salt and fats. Exchange your French fries with fruits and vegetables. They are healthy and will help keep you living longer.

Step No. 2: Drink moderately. A glass of wine per day is OK but drinking more than two drinks per day can be harmful for your health. For that reason, control the amount of alcohol you drink since the bad effects of alcohol can outdo any enjoyable benefits of alcohol drinking.

Step No. 3: Stop Smoking. Smoking can increase you chances of having lung cancer as well as heart diseases. For that reason, better stop smoking since it has many detrimental effects on the body and to our health. In addition, it is not too late to quit smoking since studies show that those smokers who quit can definitely add some years to their life. So no matter if you are 30 or 60, you can still add up some time on Earth if you quit smoking.

Step No. 4: Have a regular exercise routine. Keeping your body fit and your stamina longer can definitely add some years to your life. So, allot some time to do exercise routines daily. A 30-minute work out will do to burn that excess fat and keep your weight at a proper level.

Step No. 5: Have regular check ups. As they say, prevention is better than cure. For that reason, never fail to get your annual physical examinations for you to avoid or even cure fatal diseases at an early stage.

Abaout Fitness Regimen For Women To Lose 50 Pounds And Be Physically Fit

In a previous article we talked about setting goals to help you become more physically fit and lose weight at the same time. Today we are going to take this a step further and drill down into into a fitness regimen for women; losing weight in order to become physically fit.

It is true you can lose weight without making a drastic lifestyle change, but sometimes developing a regular fitness plan is essential to losing weight and maintaining a healthy body. And the point of this is of course, for you as a woman, to maintain the weight loss and keeping yourself physically fit, for your family and yourself for the rest of your life.

In that case, consider these realities:

This report is targeted at people who want to lose 50 pounds in a year. So, if you are 50 pounds or more overweight, you will first need to consult your physician about what fitness and health plan is right for you. Although you may not need to lose 50 pounds, each of the tips here can apply to you as well.

Next, don’t be afraid that exercise will make you want to eat more. You have to realize that while high intensity exercise does increase one’s appetite, the moderate intensity exercise that you will probably be doing will actually decrease your appetite for several hours after you work out.

Exercise may not result in immediate weight loss. That is because your body is converting fat to muscle and muscle actually weighs more. However, a muscular body will actually burn more calories in the long run doing day to day activities than a fatty one will. So, even if you don’t see immediate results on the scale, keep up the good work. You will lose more weight if you combine endurance training (such as aerobics, stair stepper,or bicycling) with weight and strength training.

If you are seriously overweight or obese, you should start your exercise regime by doing sit down exercises rather than jump into a routine that is not sustainable. For instance, while sitting in a chair, do a variety of arm raises, leg lifts, bends, and leans. Also, consider water exercises such as swimming and water aerobics. In the water, there is less of a load on your knees and joints.

Walking is an excellent form of exercise for overweight individuals. A good pair of walking shoes is the only equipment you will need. However, you might want to consider hooking up with a walking buddy, getting a dog, or investing in a iPod to make the walks go more quickly. When you are determined to burn 500 additional calories a day, choosing an exercise routine that fits your lifestyle and your health level can be very beneficial for you.

One thing I have discovered over the years, as a parent, is that by involving my children in my fitness regimen it's a great way to stay motivitated. My children became so involved that when Mom, tried to slack off, they would nag me to death until I got up off of my backside and worked out with them. One of their favorites was doing a brisk walk and us talking about the things we saw and the things we had done that day. Talk about quality time with my kids. Wow!

So you can clearly see that a fitness regimen for women is not hard to do. It can actually be fun and all the side benefits for outweigh any disadvantages when you first start, trying to get healthy

All about Remedy For Dry Skin-Find The Remedy That Works For You

Having dry skin is a drag, but it's not something that you have to live with. There really is a remedy for dry skin that will work for you. To be sure, there are all kinds of remedies out there, and most of them work, but that doesn't mean that every remedy works for every person. You may need to do a little testing of your own before you find a remedy that works, but it will be worth it if it means you can say goodbye to dry skin forever.

Just as every person is different, every remedy will have a slightly different effect on your skin. For example, some remedies may call for a bit of citrus juice, but those with extremely sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate them. For that reason, it's a good idea to test any remedy on a small scale basis before you use it on a larger area of your body.

NOTE: You should always consult with your dermatologist or other qualified skin care professional about any skin care concerns you may have.

A favorite natural remedy for dry skin is oatmeal. This humble grain is loaded with health benefits, and treating dry skin is one of them. Pouring approximately two cups of colloidal oatmeal (Aveeno is one brand name) in a lukewarm bath should do the trick. By the way, colloidal oatmeal is preferable because it stays suspended in the water and does not sink to the bottom of the tub. However, regular oatmeal can be used, but you will have to constantly agitate the water to make sure the oats are evenly distributed.

Oatmeal works so well because it has humectant properties. That means it not only moisturizes the skin, but it also works to trap in the moisture that's already there. On top of its humectant properties, oatmeal also works as a gentle exfoliants, making it ideal for washing your face. Do not use a vigorous massaging motion, but rather a gentle rub to help get rid of dead skin cells.

Avoid the use of harsh soaps on your skin. Soaps with a higher fat content tend to be softer and don't tend to dry out the skin. Dove, Basis, and Neutrogena are some of the more popular brands, though you may want to go to your local beauty store to see what other option they offer.

Staying hydrated on the inside is just as important as moisturizing on the outside. Drink plenty of water to make sure your skin is getting the full amount it needs. How much you need to drink will vary, but you should try to drink before you get thirsty. If drinking water isn't enough to help, then getting a room humidifier will add humidity to the air and help your skin feel better.

You can choose any remedy for dry skin that you like, and the above is only a small sample of what's available. Remember, the more choices you have, the more likely you are to find a solution that gives you moist and better looking skin. More about Dry Skin Remedies-Patchy Flaky And Red Oh My

Dry skin. Yuck! Nobody wants to deal with the red, flaky, painful, itchy condition that makes them feel so miserable. Luckily, there are several dry skin remedies that treat the condition effectively. What follows are a few remedies that have brought relief to millions of people. Everybody is different, however, so you may need to try a few before finding the ones that work best for you.

NOTE: You should always talk to a qualified doctor or dermatologist before treating any skin conditions. Nothing in this article is intended to be medical advice, and should not be taken as medical advice.

It may sound obvious, but dry skin is the result of a lack of hydration. This lack of hydration can be internal, external, or both. Drinking plenty of water is often all that needs to be done to battle dry skin. How much water you need will vary, but if you ever get thirsty during the day, then it's a sign that you are not drinking enough. The other benefit of drinking plenty of water is that it's good for your overall health and will help to make you feel better.

Most people think of external hydration when they consider dry skin remedies. External hydration covers anything that is applied to or done to the outside of the skin. Here are a few popular examples:

1. Lotions and creams. The beauty aisle at the store is filled with products that promise to hydrate and moisturize the skin. The good news is that all of them work, at least for some people. Even if you have tried many different products in the past, some of the ones you haven't tried may just work. One thing to look for is a product that contains humectants. A humectant is any ingredient that not only moisturizes but also locks moisture in.

2. Humidity. If you find that your skin gets especially dry in the winter, it's most likely due to the lack of humidity in the air. You can fix this problem by adjusting the heating system in your home to put more humidity in the air (assuming it has that feature installed). The other option is to use a humidifier to put more moisture in the air.

3. Natural dry skin remedies. Your kitchen cupboard may just hold all of the dry skin remedies that you need. Mother Nature has provided all of us with solutions to any number of health concerns, and dry skin is no exception. Honey and olive oil can be applied directly to the skin. A mashed up banana applied to the face can work wonders. Some people have found success with a mixture of egg yolk, olive oil, orange juice, and rose water.

As you can see, there are many dry skin remedies waiting for you. The big "secret" is to keep trying various solutions until you find the ones that work best for you. Rest assured, there is at least one remedy that will have your skin looking and feeling great. Read more about this topic at news articles on health and more

Lear about Home Remedy For Dry Itchy Skin-Trial ANd Error

Finding a home remedy for dry itchy skin is a priority for anyone who suffers from it. The good news is that here is no shortage of remedies available, though some will work better for you than others. The reason for this is simple: everybody is different, and they will each react in their own way to any remedy that they use. You may need to go through a bit of trial and error before you find the most effective treatments for your dry, itchy skin, but it will be worth it once you find something that works.

You must always talk to your doctor or dermatologist about any skin care concerns that you have. Dry, itchy skin may be a symptom of a more serious health problem, and only a medical professional can give you a proper diagnosis. Nothing in this article meant to be, nor should it be taken as medical advice.

If you have a can of evaporated milk (not to be confused with sweetened condensed milk), try adding it to your bath water. This will make your skin feel more moist, and makes a good home remedy for dry itchy skin.

Another option for your bath water is a combination of baking soda and oatmeal. You can even mix the two ingredients with the evaporated milk for even softer skin. It should be noted that the baking soda may change the pH balance of your skin, so you may want to test it on a small area before bathing in it.

There are several different home remedies that can be applied to the skin. The following is only a partial list:

 - Vitamin E oil (you can buy this as an oil, or break open a few liquid Vitamin E capsules to get the oil from the inside)
 - Witch hazel
 - Aloe Vera gel
 - Lemon juice
 - Cod liver oil
 - Corn starch (sprinkled directly on your skin or added to your bath water)
 - Wheat germ oil
 - Olive oil
 - Raw egg
 - Chickweed and burdock root (in poultice form)

Perhaps the most effective home remedy for dry itchy skin is staying properly hydrated. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the course of the day. If you find yourself getting thirsty, then that's a sign that you should be drinking more water. Low humidity in your home can also cause dry skin. You can easily add more moisture to the air, and also your skin, by using a portable humidifier.

The main thing to keep in mind is that you do not have to suffer. Choose any home remedy for dry itchy skin that is listed above, or discover more remedies of your own. As long as it brings relief, that's all that matters.

Lear about Your Best Way To Relieve Sciatic Nerve Pain

Your sciatic nerve can be found running from the end of the spine, down the leg, and all the way to the toes. Did you also know that the sciatic nerve is the largest one in your body? Perhaps you already knew these things if you have ever suffered from the painful condition known as sciatica. This is often caused by a bulging disk in the back. On the other hand, it's possible to have a bulging disk and not feel any pain, but when pain is present it tends to be quite severe. Also, the pain is usually found on just one side of your body.

However, you should also know that sciatica is often over-diagnosed, and that a lot of regular back pain is tagged as being sciatica. There are many causes for leg and back pain, but it isn't always sciatica. Therefore, you need to be sure that you have received the correct diagnosis, and that something else isn't causing the pain.

Make an appointment with your doctor, and request that they run any needed tests to see if your pain is being caused by sciatica or some other ailment. What it comes down to is you can only receive the right treatment for your condition if it has been diagnosed properly. Either way, you should seek medical help to help ease the pain of sciatica.

In today's world, one of the first things people turn to to cure any medical problem is prescription drugs. The truth is that a lot of them can, and do, work quite well. However, all medications have potential side effects, and when those include death (even in rare cases), then they sound like a less attractive option. Pills also have a way of losing their effectiveness over a period of time. but, if you still want to try the drug option, be sure they are prescribed after an accurate diagnosis.

However, pharmaceuticals are not the only way to relieve the pain of sciatica. A good number of people use natural methods to get their pain under control. Exercising is one such method. You can do stretching exercises to remain flexible. You can also go for strength training which has been shown to help some people. Try sticking with low impact exercises to improve blood circulation without putting extra stress on the nerve.

Physical therapy is sometimes used in more severe cases to keep flareups to a minimum. This therapy can be done by a professional, or you can try pilates or yoga to get the same effect on your own. Stretching during physical therapy helps to loosen up your muscles and keep the disks in your back from bulging. Stretches that target the muscles of the buttocks, legs and back are all good choices.

Whatever methods you decide to try, the key is to do something. You don't have to let sciatica ruin your life. With all of the options that are available, you should take action and try some of them. Once you are free from pain, you'll be glad you did.

Lear about 12 Signs Of Alcohol Addiction

12 Signs Of Alcohol Addiction and Save Your Life

Many alcoholics are in denial about their addiction but there may actually be signs that are

signaling that you do in fact have a problem and need help.  If you even think in the

slightest way that you could have an alcohol problem then take an honest look at these

twelve symptoms and ask yourself if this sounds just like you.  You don't need to have all

twelve of these symptoms to be an alcoholic, in fact you only need to have a couple of these

symptoms and you could very well be an alcoholic.

1. Feel ashamed or guilty about your drinking.  Do you try to hide that you drink or become

defensive if questioned about your drinking?  Ask yourself honestly if you feel ashamed with

your drinking habit.

2. Drinking alcohol at times and occasions when it is dangerous.  The most obvious example

is driving while intoxicated, but it could also be operating equipment or heavy machinery or

even drinking while pregnant.

3. Once you start drinking you can't stop.  Do you ever go out for a drink and find that

once you start drinking you just don't know when to stop?  Even if you go out for just a

couple of quiet drinks you always end up drunk and can't remember much the next day.

4. Constantly think about drinking.  Do you find yourself constantly thinking about when you

will have your next drink?  Do you plan your schedule around going out for a drink?  If you

find that you are doing this regularly, even daily, then you might have a drinking problem.

5. You just can't quit drinking.  Have you ever thought about quitting drinking altogether

but you just can't do it?  You know the health problems associated with drinking so you want

to stop, but you just can't.

6. Find excuses to have a drink.  You may have started out having a drink to calm yourself

or to relax after a hard day.  You may have had the occasional drink socially.  Now you find

that you are always looking for a reason to have a drink.

7. Drinking secretly.  Do you hide your drinking?  Do you hide alcohol around the house and

sneak some whenever no-one is around?  Do you hide your drinking from your family because

you don't want them nagging you?  Your family talk to you about drinking because they care

about you and want you to stop.

8. Blacking out and not remembering the night before.  How many times do you wake up the

next morning and can't remember anything from the night before?  If you can't remember what

you did, how do you know you aren't going to do something stupid or dangerous?  If you have

blackouts then you have no control over what you are doing and this is just plain dangerous.

9. Hurt someone while drunk.  When you drink you often do or say things that you otherwise

wouldn't.  You could find that you hurt someone, emotionally or physically, and you could

even harm someone seriously.  You could have some serious regret when you sober up and

realize what you have done.

10. Takes more drinks to get drunk.  Have you built up a tolerance where it now takes you

two or three times more alcohol before you start to enjoy yourself?  You drink more because

you don't feel like it's having much effect, but your body really can't handle more and you

are just putting yourself at greater risk.

11. Lie about your drinking.  If you are lying about your drinking then you are obviously

drinking too much.  When you lie to those you love you are betraying their trust and you

could find yourself without any friends or family left.

12. You drink even when you know you shouldn't.  You know that drinking isn't good for you

and that you are drinking too much and yet you continue to do it.  You know that when you

drink you do things that hurt people or things that are just wrong and yet you continue to

drink.

These are some pretty serious symptoms and just one or two of these can be very serious.  If

you see some of these traits in yourself then you really do have a drinking problem and need

to seek help.

Waxing Upper Lip and Excess Hair Removal

Many people may not realize how many women have a problem with excess facial hair, it's not something most women like to talk about.  There are several ways people can get rid of unwanted hair and one of the best is by using wax.  For women who tend to get hair on their upper lip, waxing upper lip can provide long term hair loss and it can be done right at home.

There are several reasons why waxing is a great method for removing unwanted hair, not just unwanted facial hair but from anywhere on the body:

1. Waxing is inexpensive compared with other methods.  Even if you opt to go to a salon and get it professionally done, it's still much less money that having electrolysis or laser hair removal treatments.

2. It is easy enough that you can do it yourself right at home.  You can make the wax yourself or buy a kit at your local drug store.  Both will be very effective and easy to use.

3. Waxing is much longer lasting than shaving ( the other most commonly used method for hair removal) and you won't get the bumps of razor burn, though you will probably have some redness for a few hours after waxing.

If you want to try waxing as a way to get rid of your unwanted facial hair, here are the steps you need to take in order to get optimal results:

1. Prep the upper lip area before waxing by using a gentle cleaner. Thoroughly dry off the lip after you've cleaned the area.

2.  Carefully read all instructions first so you know what to do. When it comes time to heat the wax, start with the lowest temperature possible in order to get the proper results. Stir the wax and test a small amount on your wrist to make sure it isn't too hot, the last thing you want to do is to burn yourself.  The wax will be the consistency of honey when it is ready to apply.

3.  Use the stick included with the kit, or if you've made your own wax just use a popsicle type stick that you can get at beauty counters or craft stores, apply a thin layer of wax to the upper lip area.  You may want to do half the upper lip area at one time and then do the other half so the wax doesn't cool too much and get hard.

4. Take some cloth and place it directly over the wax above the lips, press it down firmly so the cloth sticks to the wax, firmly and quickly pull the cloth off the wax in a downward motion (make sure to use your fingers to hold the surrounding skin taut).  Repeat with the other side.

5. Use the wax remover supplied, or use some lotion, and gently remove all the wax residue.  Then to soothe the skin, apply some gentle lotion to the area.  You can also use an ice cube that will numb the area and reduce the swelling while getting rid of the sting.

To get the best results you will need your hair to grow out until it is at least a quarter of an inch in length, if you don't, the wax won't have enough hair to stick to and your results won't be very good.

Waxing upper lip is a great way to get rid of unwanted facial hair, it's cheap, easy and will provide long lasting results.
